Here’s a little something to tide you all through the weekend. Super GT Pre-race!
When we’d finally hit the press center and put our bags down, the GT4 cup Asia had already begun:

James (my colleague at the magazine) and I wondered what car this was until we checked it out on the brochure: A Ginetta G50. A low volume kit-car and sportscar manufacturer, Ginetta is based in the UK and makes rather slinky and sexy looking cars. Don’t think they are road legal though, even in the UK though!

Sorry I only have one photo of the GT4s, there were aston vantages as well but I didn’t take any nice shots :/ But anyway, after the GT4s, the Super GT beasts came out to stretch their legs!

I’m sorry, I’m biased here. I promise other Super GT cars were taken too!

Let me just fawn over the HSV-010GT for now
After the Super GTs had their run the Scirocco Cup China had its turn on the track.

This was the safety car: by comparison, the Sciroccos were struggling to catch up! They were bone stock cars with race interiors, after all.

They still made a hell of a noise, though!
After that was over, it was an open paddock session. The pits were immediately filled with throngs of fans and photographers vying to take photos of the Jippun Race Queens and cars!

Hot damn!

Admittedly most of the race queens weren’t that fantastic, but here are the few that seriously caught my attention

This fine-looking lady had extremely eye catching… features.
It was a healthy mix of cars and beautiful women, so I was quite happy.

This shot was really in the moment, as the Calsonic guys paintakingly checked every nook and cranny to make sure the GT-R was race-worthy.

The Hankook girls were pretty sporting and pretty to boot,

Spotted this lone foreign import, lapping up the attention!

The boys at the Dome Racing team even had time to set up an afternoon pool party!
All in all, though the atmosphere was tense, the teams were friendly and warm to all the fans and spared no expense pleasing them. Stickers, fans and other memorabilia were given away freely, and drivers even stepped out to greet fans and sign autographs. When we were eventually herded away from the paddock, we were all smiles.
Stay tuned for photos from the actual race!
